All 160 Choice hotels have now been certified by DNV to the Environmental Management System standard - ISO 14001.
The certification process was conducted throughout 2009, and was according to the hotel chain’s website the single most comprehensive project Choice Hotels Scandinavia has ever gone through. In the end all of the hotel chain’s 160 hotels were certified according to the ISO 14001 standard – a standard which specifies the actual requirements for an organisation’s environmental management system.
Choice Hotels Scandinavia has high ambitions with regard to the environment, and seeks to become a role model with respect to efficient environmental work, in particular within the hotel business. With the ISO 14001 certification, Choice has a system in place which ensures a continuous focus on this aspect of its daily operations as well as a tool for continuous improvement of the hotel’s environmental work.
