DNV proNavis was merged into DNV in December 2008, after having been a limited company since it was founded in 2002. The unit aims at developing and providing services and tools to address the aspects of early (pre-contract) ship design aspects in a fleet-/chain-perspective. The environmental aspects of transport systems have high focus, as does the provisioning of internal and external clients with improved knowledge and decision support tools.
With its combination of naval architecture, logistics and optimisation, as well as a strong software development capacity and R&D training, DNV proNavis forms a natural extension to DNV’s diverse activities on the environmental improvement arena. To be able to provide clients with state-of-the-art services and tools, the unit collaborates close with DNV Research & Innovation and NTNU, also draws from the extensive competency in other DNV units. In addition, software tools are both developed and distributed in close cooperation with DNV Software.
