Our approach
Verification may be according to internationally recognised standards, national regulations and/or DNV standards. Certification and/or verification services may be offered for equipment packages. The services may be provided in a contractual relationship with the operator or owner, following up the yards or contractors, or as a service to the contractors.
DNV has identified demand for a more accurate and transparent approach to verification and certification of process systems. We have therefore issued the Offshore Service Specifications DNV OSS-307 for Verification of Process Systems.
The scope of work for topside and process systems typically includes:
- Document and drawing review for issues regarded to be of safety critical nature, to verify compliance with relevant internationally recognised standards forming the design basis. This service is provided for conceptual, basic and detail engineering phases.
- Design appraisal of a multidiscipline approach, involving all topside systems disciplines such as electrical, process, safety, materials, instrument, noise and vibration and working environment.
- Participation in or management of HAZOP sessions
- Witnessing tests of safety systems.
