Our client operates FPSO vessels, both shuttle tankers and storage tankers. DNV was asked to help it raise the awareness level and the processes in risk and opportunity management. This request followed a number of successful business risk projects for the company.

The project was based on a thorough survey in which employees from six departments of the client organisation answered 50 questions on important enterprise risk management aspects. Everything from methods and reporting lines to risk mitigation and cultural aspects was evaluated.

The assessment was done according to the DNV Framework for Enterprise Risk Management, which provided an overview of missing processes, methods and tools that needed to be implemented. Based on this, a tailored risk management framework was developed and implemented.
